Homeopathic Belladonna increases hope for Japanese Encephalitis

In a controlled Indian study published in the American Journal of Infectious Diseases Homeopathic Belladonna decreased the intensity of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) Virus Infection in Chick Chorioallantoic membrane (CAM).

Although most human infections are mild or asymptomatic, about 50 % of patients who develop the JE suffer from permanent neurologic defects and even 30% die.

Therefore, JE presents a significant risk to human and animals especially in South-East Asian Countries. Furthermore, no specific antiviral therapy is currently available and the first generation of vaccinations showed severe side effects in Japan.

Considering this grave pathology the current controlled study creates hope for JE. In this study Belladonna 3C, 6C, 30C and 200C decreased significantly the pock count on CAM (The t-test showed highest significance for 6C).

Therefore, all 4 Belladonna dilutions have potential role in diminishing JE virus infection in CAM.
