Welcome

About 15 years ago homeopathy was introduced into Japan. Homeopathy experienced a rapid growth: schools were founded, homeopaths graduated and began working along their clients for better health.

Nationally and internationally homeopathy is facing many challenges. In Japan, currently there are no legal requirements for practicing homeopathy. However, the Japanese Government is considering introducing some kind of standard.

In order to face these challenges, to unite and to create a body and voice for all classical homeopaths working in Japan, the Japanese Society of Classical Homeopathy (JSCHOM)/Nihon Classical Homeopathy Kyokai (NCHK) was founded in March 2010.

Our aim is to support the homeopaths, to provide continuous education for our members, and to promote homeopathy among the population.

Benefits of being a member of NCHK

As members of the NCHK, lay homeopaths in Japan could be provided with support as a profession.

In many countries of the world homeopathy is practiced as a MEDICAL discipline and medical doctors have strong opinions about homeopathy. In some countries homeopathy is allowed to be practiced only by medical doctors who have undergone additional training in homeopathy, there are also countries, such as Slovenia in Europe where medical doctors are prohibited from practicing homeopathy.

As in Japan the regulation is still missing, we have the freedom of choice. However, we have to be prepared. As an individual it is difficult to stand against an establishment, therefore being a member of the only independent homeopathic society in Japan can be useful.

The NCHK also organises study groups on homeopathy. Sharing experiences, positive and negative, learning from each other, exchanging information, etc is essential especially when working with people. Homeopathy practitioners could be very lonely, particularly in Japan, where the number is still small. Being part of a community brings encouragement and personal support.

Registration with the Japanese Society of Classical Homeopathy (NCHK)

One aim for founding JSCHOM was to raise the standard of homeopathy by introducing a “register of homeopaths in Japan”. We began with the registration in January 2011 with a period of grandfathering for 6 months. That means experienced and well respected homoeopaths will have the opportunity to register in our Society easily.

This system was suggested by Richard Pitt, who is a co-founder of the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC) of North America. In North America homeopathy is standing on a better platform because of the introduction of the independent and neutral CHC test.  For the future, we plan working on a similar test for the registration.

Details about the Registration you will find here

Application for membership to the International Council of Homeopathy (ICH)

The Japanese Classical Homeopathy Society applied to the International Council of Homeopathy in November 2010. After one year of being in Applicant Status, we may get a membership of the ICH.

We would like to encourage every homeopath to take part in the first international Homeopathy Conference in Tsukuba next year on 9th-10th October 2011hosted by the International Council of Homeopathy (ICH) and the Japanese Homeopathy Foundation & Japanese Homeopathic Medical Association (JPHMA).
